OK, this is just an idea that LMNH mentioned to me this lunchtime.
Suppose there were a monthly bike market, aimed specifically at the cottage industries surrounding the bike scene in London.
Suppose this happened one Saturday a month at LMNH and they donated the space to have little market stalls selling their merchandise.
So... not a jumble, not second hand bike gear... new stuff, from little craft outfits who might be turning out bike bags, caps, shirts, accessories, all kinda of stuff.
Sound good? Well for LMNH to take this beyond being just an idea they'd like to run it by a load of little cottage industry workshop type outfits.
So this is a call for those people who are making stuff to make themselves known and to go and speak to LMNH so that they can see there's a demand for it. It doesn't matter how small you are, just that you're not a large organisation.
Off the top of my head, people who should be there: Archies (bags), Belk (bags), Smeear (caps), LFGSS (shirts and caps), Anna Nichoola (womenswear), 2nFro (indie shop with own product).
But there's obviously more, and the point is to encourage there to be more.
As for the "How much will this cost me?" train of though. Well their view was that if you sell stuff they get a little cut, if you don't then your having been there is cool enough. So the barrier to entry is very low. If you have merch and you can be there to sell it, then that's enough, no money to be handed over unless you sell stuff (in which case you'd have money).
That was the idea, so assuming it doesn't change... get in touch with them!
