Because they are just 1 weekend each, and turnout tends to be better on weekends anyway. An ongoing midweek team night could become a focus for team players and pull them away from the established throw in nights.
I'm not bitching, just sounding some caution. Definitely think it'll be a good idea if it is well organised and managed.
