Royal Mail planning to phase out bicycles, petition to stop them

This is what replacing the Royal Mail bicycles;

I love how they stated that's it's 35% cheaper than it's diesel counterpart, yet point out that it'll be replacing the bicycles.

Having been a Postie for three years, despite the lovely Pashley being absolutely indestructible... if they offered me one of those in exchange for a bike I'd snatch the keys out of their hands.

Romantic an idea as it is seeing jolly Mr Postman in his nice shorts on his red bike, it fucking stinks waiting around for thirty minutes to an hour for one of the drivers to drop your bags off in the rain... even more when they don't all fit in the pouch boxes... even more when someone has lost the keys to said pouch box and/or your padlock... even more when some prick steals your bike to ride to the pub up the street.
