In 1979, shortly before the General Election, a slogan appeared on a wall near Grosvenor Square in Mayfair: "Anarchists Vote Tory!" I was never sure if it was a statement or a command but, very shortly into the Thatcher era, I began to understand the message.

I'd agree, there are parallels between the two, both, have at their roots, a rejection of big government / statism.
