I lived on an Anarchist commune for a while, although it wasn't named as such. It was a traveller's site where there genuinely was no law. A sort of cross between a rubbish dump and a mental home (with no guards or doctors) you really could do exactly as you pleased.
There were, of course, consequences such as having your trailer razed to the ground if you pissed someone off and unfortunately there was no recourse to appeal in situations like this only revenge / reprisals.
Great fun for a year or two, but would not recommend as a solution for large-scale societies / nations!
