A little identity for social group forums

I do a lot of work with people in Norwich. One day I asked one of them, a woman who had grown up in Dublin and moved to Londonas a young adult but then on to Norwich a dozen years earlier, what the cultural life of Norwich was like.

"You have to understand" she said, "that this is the place that lost out to Liverpool as European City of Culture."

She has since retired to Edinburgh.

Yeah, but Liverpool is a pretty vibrant city now as well. Is it just any city other than London that you have a problem with?
