if her clients are happy why bother with an upgrade? spend the money on promotion and get more work.
The D70 was always a second camera to her medium format bronica, and was more for snapping extra shots at weddings. The results are good, but I think she'd like more from the camera now that digital is taking over (I kinda think a D300 would be more fitting, its just a bit pricey)
^ upgrade her present lens. a good lens she could keep for longer and upgrade the nikon body later.
sorry if i missed something.
I was going to suggest she puts money from selling the current body and sigma (18-200) lens. To a better nikon lens.
The body is a hell of an upgrade.
Twice the resolution.
Smaller body.
Twice the white balance override steps.
ISO rated to 3200 rather than 1600
Better sensor
Larger LCD and higher LCD resolution
USB connection significantly faster
The only drawback to an upgrade is that they no longer take Compact Flash cards and now take SDHC cards. In one way this is better as they are more common, larger and cheaper. But in other ways it sucks as she's likely to have a load of CF cards.
I'd say that if she's happy with the lenses she has and isn't lusting after something to fill a gap there then the camera body upgrade would be a great present.
This was my thinking, but I know little about cameras TBH.
