Depends if she's happy with her current set-up, ie does the D70 give her the control she needs quickly enough? I recently upgraded from a D40 and toyed with the idea of a D90. In the end I went for a second-hand d300 - pretty much everything can be controlled without needing to go into menus, a la the DXX range. But then I already had the lenses I wanted.
