  • Well my 5 hours + macbook battery died, again. I had one replaced under warranty, but it's now out of warranty (but only just two years old). So that's two batteries in two years. According to the 'genius' at the genius bar, who was a self important little ****, this is quite normal for lithium ion batteries. Funny it's never happened to any of my other li-ion batteries.

Their testing software said it had been charged 140 times. I wish I'd had the chance to get down to 30 minutes battery life like Neil.

I was taking it in to get the plastic on the front replaced because it's peeling off. This is a known design fault and they'll fix it free, but they won't consider fixing the hairline cracks at the back which are clearly caused by plastic fatigue and/or poor quality plastic.

I'm with citygent, Apple's hardware quality is rubbish these days I'm afraid.

I can get more than 5 hours from my Macbook, I don't know what it's *meant *to do.

My Powerbook 12" was treated like shit and managed to last 6 years without a single problem. The battery was superb and despite constant knockings, being thrown into bags next to tools, dropped at parties, it never developed a fault.

I replaced it 2 months ago with a MacBook Pro 13". It is a lovely machine, but today I had to book it in to the genius bar because, despite being mothered and nurtured, for some unbeknownst reason, the trackpad click has stopped registering.

They're evidently too busy dicking around with their iPhones and trying to reinvent the wheel with that iPad shit, to actually focus on what they're good at.

My MBP battery is down to about 30 mins, but it's 3 years old...
