does the film grain and shitty lens really bring a soulfulness to your imagery with the film really capturing the essence of a frozen reality?
Without a doubt, there is some unknowable and spiritual quality that I find I can only get with 12,800 ISO black and white film shot on a pre-1974 rangefinder, a kind transcendental otherworldliness that not only captures the image you see but also the very zeitgeist, the mes-en-scene, it's like a golden hand of an unrevealed princess reaches right out of the camera and takes the immaterial essence of the moment back into the camera on the tips of her love coloured finger tips - and then to sew this unknowable beauty across the silver-halide canvas with a single majestic sweep, like an angel sewing the seeds of profundity across a barren and yearning wilderness.
I then get 32 machine prints knocked out at Boots.
it's a shame these video dslr's don't capture 60frames at 1080, that really would be useful.
It won't be long, this year probably, 1280x720p slow motion is useful, the overwhelming majority of stuff in UK is sill broadcast as SD (only 720x576i) - and 720p scaled down to SD looks really really good.
Pentax have announced their 40mp camera at less than €10k, should shake the market up a bit if it's any good.
