  • We pay £300 per month for a space that is just over 2 average sheds in size. We're using about half and want to downsize in a month or two to save us £150 per month.

For the next 2 months a token payment is fine... but after that our ability to downsize would be held up, so then we'd grumble for the half we can't save.

At the thread start I figured this was just while you move or something. But ongoing is not good for storage.

The way we view storage is that it's a tax on the items. Is there any point in storing Ikea shelving? There certainly isn't when the storage costs greatly exceed the cost of the items.

We've learned that over time, so we've trashed all low value and non-sentimental items and the only things we have in storage are the high sentimental value items that we cannot store at home.

Happy to help for very little for the next couple of months, but ongoing would be an issue. I'd wager you didn't know how much storage is.
