What are the condition of the cables like? Many brake problems tend to coem down to cables. Also sand any rough spot on the bosses and grease up.
There should be a grub screw on one or both cantis to balance out the diffrence in the spring, just as there is on vee style brakes. Always keep the yoke central, don't use that to compensate for uneven pull.
I love cantilever brakes, with a decent set just as good as vee brakes and more tweakability along with brake blocks with more meat on them.
