Funny thing, i first met Paul through eBay (of course), he bought a vintage leather helmet - which he didn't use on the ride that would make him the legendary 50/14!!
The ride to Brighton - we were talking by e-mail, i told him about the forum ride to Brighton, "hey why don't you come along?".
I don't remember why he didn't come on a road bike. He had recently built that track bike, and wanted to change to a larger sprocket but they were out of stock.
I tried to convince him it wasn't a good idea to ride to Brighton using that high gear, but we know Paul! He rode for a bit, and was like, "yeah i will be fine!" :)
But despite the accident and a not very good first impression, Paul didn't give up cycling, and getting involved with the forum!
A very good example how cycling can change someone's life!
