Never ceases to amaze me how much of a rush some drivers are in. this is London. there will be another red light, another ped in your way, a delivery van unloading, a bus at a bus stop, road works, accidents, closed tunnels, the list goes on.

Exactly. Moving about in London is of necessity stop-start, and burst speed acceleration/dead stop impatience/gambling to get through faster only leads to more congestion.
