I got into riding in a more serious way by being persuaded to do the London to Brighton ride (the BHF one). Before, the fourthest I had ridden was about 1 mile. I got myself a decent road bike and trained (pathetic, I know for 54 miles, but we all started somewhere) and got more into riding from there. The actual ride was shite.
