Nice of you to suggest it but my focus now must be on next year and some relatively heavy sportives and other rides that I am lining up. Being lapped in cyclocross events, while better than being dropped in Hillingdon road races, I am sure, is not necessarily the best way to prepare mentally for what I want to achieve next year. I agree that bike handling would improve but, after my last experience, I feel that I would be better improving my bike handling before trying an off road race in future. If I try cyclocross next winter, it will only be after some specific training beforehand. The falls I took last time out were painful enough but could have been a lot worse. I really don't want to be off the bike through injury unless I can help it.
