I looked into getting one of these for the SS MTN. The shape and hardness looked to be around that which I find comfortable. Seemed to be a few problems with them though. Apart from the forementioned breaking, people have complained that they have destroyed their cycling shorts,buy catching them.
Personally I decided not to take the risk.
I went for the SanMarco Phobos, which is also quit a stiff saddle, and seems well thought out for off-road riding.
