Wow that's a lot of messages and lots of good points.
As others have said two drive sides isn't going to happen.
I think I'll go down to 14 and see what they have.
I do have a road bike at my parents if I ever have an urge to ride many miles although in my experience I ride from A to B as a mode of transport. I enjoy riding but I have never really had an urge to go up big hills, push myself physically or rack up thousands of miles just because.
I've been playing around with gear ratio's and I think I can get alright ratios for both if I can get some slightly longer than average track ends. It will be fixed/fixed.
If I do decide to go on a biggish ride I can always stick a new chainring/chain on it and ride in to the yonder.
I don't have a job so saving up isn't really going to happen anytime soon, don't mention raiding the student loan either it's not going to happen and that's that.
Building bikes is fun and I'm a bit itchy to have a new project to keep me busy.
The Condor is a beautiful bike (in my eyes) but I think I'm starting to get a bit too precious about it, at the end of the day it's just a bike and I can always build another when space/funds allow. Although I'll probably be a bit gutted if it goes.
As for what I want, who knows? Certainly not me but I know I want to do something.
Final point, this bike isn't going to be the be all and end all, able to do everything perfectly I know that, but cruising round town and playing polo aren't too far detached from each other and I can't see building an acceptable (or even decent) bike for both being impossible.
Well I think I covered everything there, sorry for the rambley nature of my post.
