• i am worried about the quality but then again i have never broken a part in my life land my jumps carefully and in fact don't really go for it on my jumps anyways ....I am sure the cheapest shimano parts would suffice
    i think i may just use the xt's i have and get rid of the three chainrings and get some single chainring bolts and set the crank up as a single speed crank
    would save me having to fork out for new kit as i can just take them from my kona

    No idea if it would be suitable for your usage. But modified XTR 960s are a popular way of getting a light yet strong, SS crankset. I've read a lot of posts from people who have done this quite economically by getting a good price for the chainrings.
