Has anyone removed the anodise from sugino 75s?

The whole removing anodising with caustic soda does thing does not actually work very well at all. It wont all come off uniformly. And then the the caustic soda will stain the bare metal a dark grey/blue colour which you will have to polish out.

no, it will come off uniformly, it won't 'stain' the metal. just need to sand it down a little. removing the ano with caustic soda is the easy part, it works very well indeed.

It is a lot of hard work, which involves a fuckload of polishing even if you want them to look halfway decent.

Plus it will never last as the raw alu without hard-anodising will dull & go flaky grey colur in no time at all.
