Why not just get a singlespeed coaster hubs? they sell them for £20 including cog and a wide varies of spacing at bikefix.
the hubs will stay in gear depending on what you set it to.
Locking - coaster hubs tend not to have a thread, just a place to push your cog on and a round metal thing to hold it in place.
