I am really going to go bonkers because I just don't understand this problem:
I have two fairly cheap/basic Suzue loose-ball bearing hubs and proper tools/cone wrenches. The problem is that whenever I adjust the cones to allow the bearings to be smooth without play, it only stays for that for about 2 weeks until the bearings are so seized that you can't twist the axle in your hand.
The cones seem to tighten up themselves. I have tried:
to grease the axle/cones
to take the grease away again
different washers
to super-tighten the cone nuts
With no effect. Anyone knows why this happens and how to prevent it? I don't really want to build new sealed-bearing hubs and then relace them...
