  • Foundry to me is the first place I played in London. I played a 4 hour glitch/noise set on a Saturday afternoon in 2004. No one batted an eyelid. As it got later I moved into more beat-driven electronics. Some guy came over and said "that was really good til the last bit."

    Now, the art, the music and the general craziness aren't everyone's cup of tea, but the Foundry is actually a pretty unique venue IMHO. Like Resonance FM, it supports a whole manner of forms of expression that don't have many homes.

    A few years ago the council killed their music license and there's been a feud running ever since I believe. I'm not surprised to see the council has won, but it's a bit of a sad day for creativity in London.
