I though cartridge bearings were more to do with ease of use than longevity, especially as the loose balls are much bigger than the balls in a sealed bearing which should make them better?
The Hope hub is no doubt a nicer and better made hub though but have to base it on RRP rather than a used example to make a fair comparison :-)
