I m looking for a weeks rental of an apartment, probably in Williamsburg, next June
Any pointers ? I ve been on Craigs list to have a look and sent off numerous emails . It would be for 4 of us. My good lady wife and our 2 teenage daughters; so Williamsburg sound like it would hit the spot for them...
I've lived in Brooklyn for 20 years, Unless you have shitloads of cash, throw your net really wide. Williamsburg is cool, but it's also a bit of an overcrowded nightmare too. Look at Park slope, Carroll Gardens, Dumbo, Cobble Hill, Red Hook, Green Point (Actually if you want to be in WB, Greenpoint is right next to WB and is probably a bit cheaper, and is also a better taste of real NYC than WB will give you. Awesome Polish food!) Even Bed Stuy has some decent areas nowadays. Long Island City and Astoria in Queens are literally a hop, skip and jump on a bike or about 2 or three stops on the G train to Williamsburg too. Queens will also be more afordable if your looking for a place for the whole family. Good Luck.
