I'd still recommend a custom Roberts. They're beautiful, timeless bikes that will last you forever. You can get a really well-equipped build for around £1,600.

But as above, if you're more into the contemporary carbon look, fair enough.

Nope, but I've completely stopped paying attention to the fact that I have no money. I have a £1000 overdraft so I reckon if I can get in credit I can get a 2k bike. (only realised you could get a bike over 1k after posting in response to you)

I'm doing my first race in a couple of weeks so I'll probably abandon the idea of a fancy road bike after the humiliation of that anyway :D
