it looks like its marketed to people who want the apparent individuality that riding a fixed gear brings without actually needing any ability to ride abike/desire to get anywhere efficicently.
fuck it, people have been spending loads of money on shit stuff for ages and they will continue to do so. also, if it suceeds as a counter culture to fixed gear riding it can only lead the trend followers away.
