I thought the exact same before I bought mine. Just keep telling yourself that you won't be able to see them when you're clipped in. Anyway, once you've used them for a while and they get a bit scratched up (the paint on the Aliums go real quick) they just look part of the bike.
Peeps...stop thinking about it and get ordering!! Granted I have no experience with any other clipless system (be it spud/roadeggbeaters/whatever) but ATACs are the shiznit. It's not forum hype.
