• I feel your pain and you probably don't want to hear this..but...

If you really, really must lock your bike in public, you have to expect that one day, statistically speaking, you'll come out to find it dented, knackered or not there any more. I have a cheap but perfectly good bike reserved for this purpose. Save your decent bikes for good long rides when you can enjoy them.

Sorry for your loss though, sucks when it happens...

I really really don't want to hear that my beloved bikes will one day get molested by scrotes. :-(

Sorry to hear about the OP's frame dent.

It's not happened to me yet. In fact, none of my bikes I've used in London have ever been touched, to my knowledge. But then, they are massive, so big man's frame = big man comin to gitcha if you fuck around with it. Plus I tend to "personalise" them a lot - stickers rather than immaculate paint job which devalue the frame, weird choices of bits, etc. Makes them easier to spot and harder to get shot of etc.

Oh yes, and my biggest advantage over the OP is my bikes are always shit. Sorry to hear your nice bike got bruised.

If it's any consolation, does it ride as sweet still? If so, it's now that much less stealable but just as rideable as it ever was.
