• Yep, most cycling info is impossible to find via t'interweb. And then you get to your first race and you have no idea what to do or where to go and no-one will tell you exactly what to do because they all know what they're doing and it seems so obvious to them.

Unfortunately Shecycles is now defunct so that's one resource gone. I'd say let's do it again but I don't know if I believe the interest is there to sustain it.

The only way to get into the loop is to go do it, and then you meet people who say 'oh, are you doing this race?' and it spirals from there. I appreciate this isn't the most effective way of marketing a sport!

It's pretty much the only resource gone.

I have loads of people pestering me to set up a blog on feminism and cycling (I have this habit of having ideas, telling people about them, getting everyone all enthusiastic and then pretending not to exist when everyone looks to me to be Organiser) so maybe I should actually get off my arse and make that happen as a resource for women's racing as well. Once I've figured out how it works myself.

oh, is this something important and inspiring that I've never seen? goes off to google

It's ridiculously cheesy but Scott made me watch it the other day but since then I've given up smoking and decided to become a pro cyclist. :D
