The problem is that the forum is so fikkle -if you're in, there's banter, if you're not, there's keyboard bushido. But if you're new, you don't KNOW who's in and who's not, how the fuck would you - you're new. So you post in the tone everyone else seems to and then suddenly you get bitten. That is just SO teen-clique behaviour.

Yeh, if only there was some kind of rep system that would give people a clue. Maybe they would get green squares next to their names.
You have a point, sort of, I think, a bit but then lots of new people join with no problems. I stick to the belief that if you want to improve the forum then the best way to do that is not by pointing out what is wrong so much as just posting good stuff; be it useful, funny or whatever.
