I bought a level keirin bike off of ebay earlier in the week, and took it apart today in preparation for a respray. Much to my annoyance, the threads of the non-driveside sugino 75s have been stripped irredeemably (well, I can't get a good purchase with my crank puller anyway).
I'm taking the frame to Brixton Cycles tomorrow morning to get the headset, BB (which is also stuck fast, and is JIS and therefore shit) and dodgy crank arm removed tomorrow, but I really don't want to throw the crank arm away, and the above pictured tool looks like a great way to save the cranks (save for sending them off to highpath engineering to get re-tapped).
My other idea is, borrow a TA or stronglight crank extractor and try and get purchase with one of those.
Or, alternatively, does anyone have a silver sugino 75 165mm non-driveside crank arm lying around, perchance? :)
NB: anyone who even mentions an anglegrinder will feel the smiting fury of Our Lord God Tynan.
