There isn't a "goalie" in bike polo is there? Just people that decide to occupy the goal space, they have no special rights and priveledges... Unlike football/ice hocky (your two examples) if you change the word goalie for player and change hocky for american football or rugby, the answer becomes yes?
khornight, a fundamental point i'd totally missed, i'll take that on the chin.
regardless however, in ice hockey, you shove someone without the ball you get a foul called. it's just particularly bad taste to do it to a defender rather than an offender, if you get my drift.
im with you khor; we have all sorts of styles here in cambridge inc. pussy games and hard core games, i like both pussy and hard core. but there's something about the inane way that guy pushed the other guy off his bike just to get ahead that has riled my feathers. no "sportsman" would do that.
Agree with bogey, contact like that in any sport would have resulted in the offender picking his teeth up from around the court, what is the point??
The chap fouled didn't really care so maybe that is how they roll
I said before, I'd not seen it... and I have now... that wouldn't have been allowed in any game I've ever been part of.
You guys all hit it on the head. Regardless if it was done to a 'goalie' or not, if anybody straight up shoves somebody (or attempts to) off their bike in that way it's a foul. It really doesn't matter if it's on or off the ball. That action is just not on, as I've already copied and pasted...
