Well as we are fast approaching the longest day of the year and soon the nights will start drawing in. I think it is time to raise the issue of the Ride to Stonehenge to celebrate the Summer Soltice.
Dazzer usually organsises the ride and in the past there have been only a few riders. As this year 21st June is a Sunday and the ride can leave London on the Saturday night I was hoping it might be a good chance to get a few people out on a longer ride.
I won't preempt Dazzers ( presuming he does it this year ) but will give a few details of what is a really stunning ride with a huge party to finish it all off.
Leaving HydePark corner / Speakers Corner Saturday evening cycle through the night down to Salisbury.
Arrive at Stonehenge 3am / 4am watch sun rise drink beer party with the druids hippy's clubbers.
Fall asleep for a few hours and then ride the return journey ( obviously trains from Salisbury are available for the return leg ) for those who aren't up for the ride home.
Anyone ? Check for piccies of previous years on FLICKR or here on our very own forum uner Rolling to the Stones titles.
We should maybe have a group leaving earlier for those who want to ride fixed ??
