• I think Mike is not talking about putting your body in the way; I think he is talking about the situation where someone blocks a shot, and in doing so, foot-downs. As the ball rebounds, another attacker is following up, and rather than get out of the way (as s/he should), the defender deliberately stays in the way, and passively (or not) blocks the ball with either mallet, bike or foot.

It happens a lot in throw-ins, but if it happened in tournament...

I'm aware of the situation as we've all seen it happen, I also realise that I was talking about the player being in the way (only in my last post(I was being facetious)) and excluding the possibility of it being the payers bikes/mallet etc. In the rest of thi discussion I've been referring to the player in general (Bike&All).

However, I still maintain that if the ball doesn't cross the line it isn't a goal.

I'm talking about either/any/and all of the above.

    A. defender blocks and accidentally footdowns, takes their time and in doing so interferes with the rebound.
    B. defender just out and out intentionally footdowns to block the goal (i.e. the notorious ben hunter flinging himself to the floor in the Madison vids)
