That's because, according to my life in the uk test, you can only play April fools jokes until noon. By it's nature the evening standard is out of the running.

No, it was just hearing stalwarts of cycling in London pretend to have moved away from cycling. Even though I knew it was a joke all along, I just had a massive humour fail. It was like a paranoid nightmare being triggered. Too close for comfort. :<
