Don't worry, we drink plenty of beer in melbourne. The reason there is no beer in the esky is because people either BYO (typically long necks and keep it elsewhere, i don't know why it didn't make it into the esky...) or someone has brought a slab along.
The balls are on ice because they go soft after a game or two in the sun in ~35oC heat.
