i agree that this is the most sound method, but what if you're outbid by a few pence? say i'm only willing to pay £200 for say, some wheels, but then they go for £201? you'd be pissed off no?

Doesn't mean the winning bid was £201.

The other dude may have bid £300, but the final price is dictated by the second lowest bid ie yours.
