I also know that alot of these twancunts are religious, and do bad things 'in the name of God'. People then seem to extrapolate from that and think religion=twancuntishness.
I would say that was pretty much true, a lot of people hold all religion in contempt for some of it's nastier habits.
But even if religion were not actively promoting the spread of AIDs in Africa, splitting communities along religious line in Northern Ireland, attempting to stultify the education of children in the UK or fuelling war and misogyny and bigotry and cruelty around the world, I would still hold it in contempt for it's intellectual dishonesty.
The fact that Catholic priests have a recent history of raping children put into their trust (and the Catholic church's reaction to this crime is to protect the priests from prosecution) to me is a side-show to the real problem of the long term damage religion has done to people's ability to think critically, it has retarded humanity on a global scale, kept us in the infancy of our development.
