Should just clarify:
At Hammersmith at the round about you can either continue down King street and find your way through there or cut across the pedestrian section and a short ride down a one-way street to follow the route as marked.
The rest you can take literally, you will also avoid that ridge behind Peckham which stretches over to Clapham.
