it was a dumb comment to make anyway paul as no accident should ever be treated flippantly, and I think you were trying to make a crap sexist or faux-sexist joke out of it. But I can imagine you have been feeling dreadful since the news posted. fuck it, it doesn't change the fact someone has been killed, who cares about faux pas at a time like this?
What's horrible and has made me feel sick was that yesterday when I looked at that thread the impression was that the poor girl was injured but nothing else really came forward about the girl or the injuries. I guess most people figured it would be serious. But Velcro's comment just punches you in the gut.
