MPS / City Of London Police / TFL 'Exchanging Places' HGV / Cycling Safety event is next Tuesday the 20th January 2009
We are running it at four sites primarily targeting the early morning rush hour.
Site 1- Spittal Square, EC1. We used this in December and it has a high number of cyclists passing though.
Site 2- Finsbury Circus, EC2. New location, but again a high number of cyclists use this route.
Site 3 - Queen Mothers Gate, South Carriage Drive, Westminster. This is a popular cut through.
Site 4- Eddystone Road Bridge just off Brockley Road, Lewisham. This site won't have HGV's passing by but Lewisham Road Safety and Cycling team were particularly keen to assist and recommended this as the busiest route on the Borough.
Each Site will run from approximately 7am through to 10am. There will be a HGV at each site for cyclists to sit in and continue our educational program.
At 12 noon until 3pm we will take 1 HGV to St Pauls Cathedral in the City where we will be assisting the City Police in capturing lunch time workers who cycle.
