The main question that I would be asking of a new bike is "does it have toe-overlap?"
My better half built up a very nice road bike last year to commute on but hitting her foot whenever she tried to turn a corner has made her so unconfidant in using it that it is currently a titanium and carbon fibre clothes dryer.
