that make sense, I have use the same Surly lockring ever since I first got into fixed wheel, never slipped at all, expect for the time when I didn't tighten the lockring properly and the cog managed to shredded the hubs sadly (but fortunately the lockring survived).
cost me £12, but worth it for better quality.
