Not really at all. This is not so much about religion. It's about imperialism. That's not to say there wasn't originally a religious element to one side of the conflict (the Zionists) or that there aren't some on the other side who have hijacked the issue with their own religious biases (Hamas, Islamic Jihad).
The present conflict was initially a secular one. Jews and Muslims have actually coexisted peacefully in the region for, basically, ever. The current animosity between the two groups can pretty much be traced to the late 19th century and the influx of European Jews to the region.
I think looking at this solely as a Islam vs Judaism thing is as inaccurate as viewing the issue in N Ireland simply as Catholic v Protestant.
