I would want to live in a Hundertwasser city, purely for the architecture though. Not sure how viable it would be if a whole city was designed by him.
I must admit I'm not a big fan of Hundertwasser architecture as far as its urban design is concerned. I understand where it comes from--replacing heavily oppressive rectangular shapes with irregular, moving lines certainly has its point--but I think it's a bit of a counsel of despair. I like neither, as I think both are extremes. I'd rather have buildings thoughtfully proportioned, well-drawn, more in tune with their surroundings than things designed to look in tune with the particular decorative style of Hundertwasser's other work, e.g. on canvas, which I again have to admit I don't like at all. It's the sort of thing that you find in cheap prints in hospital corridors.
NB I've never been inside a Hundertwasser house, and I couldn't possibly comment on what it must feel like to live in one. I find it is quite often the case that houses that I think look hideous from the outside are wonderful from the inside, but I wish I could rate both aspects of a house similarly highly.
