    BMX started off as cruiser/town bikes which developed into a pure racing sport with specialised bikes.

    Then from no-where it became dominated by trick riding and is to this day.

    People wouldve said it was stupid to do tricks on a mountain bike a few years ago, but look at it now - the scene has totally exploded.

    Same with motocross bikes, completely impractical and dangerous to do tricks on, but riders are pulling double backflips across stadiums as an everday thing now.

    Of course fixed wheel bikes seem to have restrictions in doing the same kind of tricks we have seen on other bicycles. But it is its specific strengths that will see it develop its 'freestyle scene' such as them being a fast urban bike, big wheels that can roll across stuff, fixed wheel allowing unicycle like control over wheelies - etc etc.

    And there is a lot of kids excited about exploring it.
