If you got the right information and witnesses his insurance would. But my point being that if a car/lorry caused any damage to a bike either by accident or intent then everyone would be screaming to get some sort of compensation. And I would agree. Thus meaning I would expect the same reaction if a cyclist caused some damage to someones car.
