    It's wrong, imo, because it gives a wrong impression of black people in the Netherlands to Dutch children.

    Yes they say he's from Spain and is that colour because of soot. And yes they tell children that if they're naughty then he'll put you in his bag and take you back to Spain. However, when children point at Black people in the street and say Zwarte Piete, and even though it's not their fault; it's a bit off.

    My White Dutch friends, on the most part, do not understand why the fuss.

    My second generation Dutch friends, asian, black etc. Do not like it at all.
