okay. so i'm a self-confessed hipster and normally choose stuff according to aesthetics rather than price. i bought a pair of aluminium (i know, i know, but they were black!) mks toe clips and no-name laminated suede double straps from brick lane last week. this is a crap set-up. the toe clips are way too soft, and keep squishing down so that it's hard to get my toes into the clips. my campagnolo ones never did that. and the leather straps rub against the crank arm when i'm not strapped in, making it hard to turn the pedal over to get into them. bad combo. even worse, after only a week or so of riding, lots of the black paint has scratched off the clips.
i have campag clips and odge's straps on my holdsworth, and i've never had probs with them.
